Saddlers boss Chris Hutchings has said that he wants a goalkeeper to replace retired Clayton Ince to have plenty of experience, but as yet found no luck.

Speaking to the Express and Star, Hutchings said: ”People say ‘thanks but no thanks’ I am in no rush at this moment in time, I want to leave my options open.”

Hutchings also stated that he does not want to rely on a youngster to fill Ince’s boots, adding: ‘We don’t want a younger one, unless he is exceptional, but there aren’t too many around.’

The boss also has the likes of Richard Taundry and Julian Gray to secure their futures as Saddlers, but says he will wait on whether they put own to paper before looking for players in all positions.

Hutching’s said: ‘We want to get our boys signed first and foremost, then they are in Black and White and we can work around that.’

Gilmartin made save cracking saves, and spared a few blushes towards the end of last season but for the sake of Saddler fans’ I for one hope that he finds decent stopper to give Gilmartin strong support.
