Walsall legend, Jorge Leitao today kindly donated a proportion of the money raised on Friday night to pay for football kits to our guys in Sierra Leone.
On Friday night hundreds of Walsall fans went to Scooters in Walsall to raise money for Jorge Leitao’s flight and accommodation so that the former striker could play for the Walsall Legends side on Saturday evening.
Jorge spent all of his evening signing autographs and posing for photographs with Walsall fans who regard Jorge as one of the greatest strikers to wear the famous red shirt.
Enough money was raised to pay for Jorge’s hotel and flights but with money raised from the sale of his signed shirt, was given back to the Walsall Trust to purchase new kits for Walsall FC Sierra Leone.
Jorge has aswell shown interest to become honorary president of the Sierra Leone club.
In the modern era where footballers bleed supporters and clubs dry, it epitomises what a guy Jorge is.
Jorge Leitao you are and always will be a Walsall legend!
