Keates Praises Accrington Boss Coleman

|

Walsall boss Dean Keates has today heaped praise on tomorrow’s opposing manager John Coleman as he brings his Accrington side to the Banks’s having yet to taste defeat on their travels.

Many tipped the Saddlers and Accrington to make up half of the relegation places but both sides head into tomorrow’s game sitting in fifth and ninth respectively.

Keates spoke to the Express and Star to say what a fantastic job Coleman is doing at Accrington.

Coleman has guided Accrington to four promotions whilst in charge and despite a poor stint as manager of Rochdale, Coleman returned to the club and guided them to their first ever promotion from League 2 last season.

Keates told the Express And Star,

“They have a small attendance etc, etc. But what John Coleman has done there over the years has been magnificent.

”It’s a big game for both teams. It will be very difficult. They are very honest, they work very hard and they play from a good shape.”

However Keates says if his team are at their best then they have the perfect opportunity to cement themselves firmly in the League 1 play off positions.

”But we are confident that, if we perform to our best, we will give ourselves an opportunity to win the game.”

The Saddlers are back in action on Tuesday as we face struggling neighbours Shrewsbury Town.
