In a statement which we would expect more from Paul Merson rather than Kevan Broadhurst. The manager has told Derby to let Pablo Mills go and terminate his contract. How this will go down at Pride Park remains to be seen.
Whilst the sentiment that Pablo needs to get on with his career and find regular first team football can’t be denied. However the fact is this will alert other clubs who no doubt be interested in Pablo considering his form not only with us but also MK Dons. The benefit that if the contract is terminated we can sign him as an unattached player is clear. It means we would be able to player Mills and the other loan players. It does ask the question why is this been done in public and not behind closed doors. Hopefully an agreement has been reached with Mills already, otherwise we could end up looking rather foolish.

In Sundays Mercury (19/3)there is an article with Pablo Mills. In brief the Edgbaston born Mills says he is happy with the Saddlers. However the article is a thinly disguised come and get me plea.
He states he considers his move to Walsall an oppourtunity to put himself in the shop window, and at the moment all he wants is to play games. It is also suggested that Derby managers have not fancied him for the Derby team. One expects this also includes the current manager as Pablo has been allowed out on loan.Whilst this sounds promising from a Saddlers perspective, it gives a hint that Pablo feels he can player at a higher level especially bearing in mind his under 17 and under 20 England caps.
