The new season fixtures will be released at 9am on Thursday, June 21 with the season set to start on Saturday 4th August.
The opening stage of the 2018/19 Carabao Cup will be played during the week commencing August 13th.
The Checkatrade Trophy gets underway during the week commencing the 3rd of September 2018.
The Emirates FA Cup First Round will be scheduled for the weekend of the 10th of November 2018.
The final day of the season looks set to take place on the 4th of May 2019.
Yes we know there’s a World Cup, new shirts and pre season friendlies but I wish we could sleep until 4th August!
It will be the Saddlers 11th campaign in League One and our 118th season in the Football League (since we joined in 1892, minus the World War years)
Dean Keates men finished 19th in 2017/18, five places lower than the previous season.
Dean Keates has already appointed Andy Davies as his number two and already has a list of four players for each position he’s trying to strengthen. It’s going to be a lively summer and if it quickens up the thirty seven days until the fixtures are released then even better!
