Nothing Is Won In August Or September

|

Walsall boss Dean Keates has this morning played down the excitement regarding the Saddlers start to the season.

The Saddlers have won two out of three league games, drawn at Scunthorpe (which we should have won) and won at Tranmere in the cup but the boss wamts to everyone to remain grounded as we travel to AFC Wimbledon this evening.

Speaking to Express and Star, Keates said

“I’ve been fortunate enough to achieve a few things in the game and I don’t think anybody has ever got promoted in August or September,”

“It’s very early days. We’ve picked up some good results and there have been some decent performances.”

“But we’ve now got a massive game at Wimbledon, it’s going to be a very tough game.”

The Saddlers have received plaudits from fans and local media regarding their style of play which has seen the lads have sixty three shots at goal in just four games.

Tonight’s opponents AFC Wimbledon haven’t conceded a goal in the league this term so will provide a stern test for the soaraway Saddlers.

If you are unable to get to Wimbledon tonight don’t forget you can watch it for £10 on ifollow or failing that follow our Facebook and Twitter pages as we bring our usual commentary.
