As the new season dawns upon us, it is time to do our yearly predictions for the season ahead. Lets get straight in!
Player of the season?
Rewind a couple of weeks ago, and I would have said Josh Gordon, and I do think he will be a very important player for us, however, the improved form of Rory Holden makes me think he will be our player of the season. He found his feet in the league last time around, and if his two games against opponents in the league above is anything to go by, then he could really shine this season. I think he will add goals to his game, and be the key man linking up our attack.
It will be a big season for?
This category is for a player that we think will have a good season, but may not have shown it yet. For me, two spring to mind. Norman and Jules. Norman showed glimpses last season, however he has struggled with consistency, and a lengthy run in the first team. However, the player that I think will be having a big season, is the player already on two MOTM’s as voted for by yourselves, Zak Jules. Jules has been huge for us this last week, and if he can keep the consistency, I think our defence will instantly be looking tighter. He excelled in both CB and LB, and I can see him mixing it up in both positions.
Top Scorer?
For this, we are going for the top scorer in the league. I think that Adebayo will end as our top scorer. With the way we are set-up, I think Gordon will setting up, more than he was last season. I also feel that Adebayo and his attacking game improved over the course of the season, as we saw by his goal rate in the final few games. I think that he will once again be chipping in with tap-in’s, putting away crosses, and popping up in the right places, to be the man in the right spot for us.
Where will we finish?
I agree with @OnePodBeyond, in that I feel we will sneak into the play-offs. I would say 7th, but as they all went for the same, I am going to be bold and say 6th!
Who will win League Two?
Purely because I don’t want to say Bolton or Exeter, I am going for Cheltenham. They have kept a large part of the squad together, and improved it in places. I think their whole team spirit will see them go up.
Who will get promoted?
I am going for Cheltenham, Bolton, Port Vale and Walsall!
Who will get relegated?
I cannot look past Southend to go down. The other team is trickier. I think Stevenage will survive, and Morecambe have recruited well, so I will say Oldham. II think they have problems off the field that will make it a tough season for them.
