Another game, another vital three points for the Saddlers, as they face the Posh at the Banks’s this evening.

On the back of another defeat on Saturday, and another round of the same old explanations for their lack of goals, Walsall will be hoping that this is their night ‘to turn their season around.’

They go into the game with the same players as their defeat to Huddersfield on Saturday, with a question mark hanging over loanee winger Martin Devaney, as he sat out the game with injury.

Jimmy ‘Wacka’ Walker will be making his return to the Banks’s after six years, with no doubt to the delight of Saddler fans, who just want a little lift after a dismal opening to the season.

The Posh go into the game in 5th place, replacing Huddersfield’s position after the weekend. They sit on the back of a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of leaders Brighton. Lewin Nyatanga will make his debut for the club after being brought in on loan, to replace the injured Tommy Rowe. George Boyd misses out after his straight red at the weekend, but Lee Tomlin returns from his suspension.

Hutchings trotted out the golden ‘hard work,’ and ‘question themselves’ phrases into his pre match pep talk, as well as turning the return of Jimmy Walker into a sort of saviour god type figure.

He told the official site ‘We can prepare the players and do what is right in training, but they have to take that onto the pitch with them. Everyone has to question themselves right now. To be successful you have to work hard and during the times when things are not going your way, you have to be prepared to work even harder…(Jimmy Walker) has the experience that we need at this time. He is a strong character and an organiser; the type of person who will get people going.’

Despite Posh’s enviable league position, they have themselves come under fire since their thrashing by Brighton. Boss Gary Johnson told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: ‘”Then we all met so everyone knows how everyone else feels and we all go into the next game together. We have reviewed absolutely everything and certainly haven`t swept Saturday under the carpet.’

So that’s it, all positive thoughts should be with the squad throughout the 90 minutes of play tonight as we help of beloved Walsall out of their dark hole.

Come on the Saddlers!
