Record Signing Moves On Again

|

Walsall’s record signing Andreas Makris has today signed for Cypriot side AEL Limassol on a one year loan – his second club since leaving the Saddlers.

Makris joined the Saddlers in August 2016 for a fee reported to be €300,000 from Anothosis Famagusta.

He made his debut for the Saddlers during our League Cup tie against Yeovil. He made thirty-two appearances for the Saddlers but only scored one goal – that came against Oxford in April.

During the summer of 2017, Makris moved back to his native Cyprus for Cypriot giants APOEL Nicosia in a deal thought to be around €300,000 – the same fee the Saddlers paid for his services.

He was limited to just one first team start at APOEL Nicosia and this summer signed for AEL Limassol on a one year loandeal.

Limassol currently sit top of the Cypriot First Division having won their first game of the season.

Everyone at Vital Walsall wishes Andreas the best of luck at his new club.
