News had reached us tonight that Richard O’Kelly is on Sean O’Driscolls shortlist to become his assistant at Bristol City.

O’Kelly has worked with O’Driscoll previously at Bournemouth and Doncaster Rovers.

In their full season at Doncaster Rovers, the club gained promotion into the Championship after winning the League One play-off final in 2008 against Leeds United. The pair were placed on ‘gardening leave’ by the club in September 2011, with Rovers sitting bottom of the Championship.

If Richard O’Kelly was to leave us at this stage it would be a major setback as we are slowly building a great foundation for the future.

Obviously a Championship club is something we cannot compete with but with the Robins struggling they could well be at the same level as us next season.

We shall update you with any further information as soon as we get it.
