Whilst Bury on a wet tuesday night may not seem to tempting there are some local pubs worth a try. Firstly on the road from town to Gigg lane, (The Manchester road), there is the real ale haunt called the Waterloo Hotel, it also has good food as well.Nearer to the ground there is The Pack Horse and The Staff of life, I perfer the Waterloo but would certainly not turn my nose up at the Staff!!! Also there is a chip shop not too far away too.

Also just off the Manchester Road is the Swan and Cemetery. These have a regular home following feel but the locals are friendly enough if you wish to give them a try.

There is also a large social club at the ground. Which is fine if you enjoy these places admittence isn’t usually a problem but it’s been a long time so who knows
