Saddlers Sign Southampton Keeper On Loan

|

The Saddlers have today confirmed the signing of Southampton keeper Jack Rose on a season long loan.

Jack Rose and Southampton….I’m sure there is a Titanic link there.

Jack Rose becomes Darrell Clarke’s eighth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Shay Facey, James Clarke, Stuart Sinclair, Cameron Pring, James Hardy, Jack Kiersey and Elijah Adebayo.

Rose who is originally from Solihull started his career at West Bromwich Albion. He was with the Baggies for twelve years during his time with Albion he spent time on loan at Accrington Stanley and Crawley where he made nine appearances.

Rose was released from the Baggies on 30th June 2017 but was immediately snapped up by Southampton in August 2017 signing a one year deal – following the expiry of his contract he penned a new two year deal earlier this month to keep him at St Mary’s until 2021.

Rose has represented England at Under 16 level and has formed part of Southampton’s Under 23 squad. Where he featured regularly for them last season.

Rose will provide much needed competition to Liam Roberts.

Everyone at Vital Walsall welcomes Jack to the club.
