Walsall boss Dean Smith and Chief Executive Stefan Gamble have both spoken out today following Jamie Paterson’s move to Nottinghaam Forest.

Smith said “It is with great reluctance that we have accepted Nottingham Forest`s offer for Jamie” “Nottingham Forest came in with a bid that met our valuation of the player and, after Jamie had made his feelings clear, we won’t stand in his way and wish him every success at Forest.

Gamble then confirmed money from Paterson’s transfer will be put straight back into building a succesful team; ‘What is important now is that we move on, continue to build upon the success of last season and see to it that the money we will receive from the sale of Jamie is wisely reinvested back into the playing budget and the infrastructure of the club to enable us to strengthen the squad ahead of the 2013-2014 challenge.’

Its refreshing to hear comments from the management and Chief Executive of Walsall to reassure fans that the money will be invested back into the playing side…….watch this space.
