Walsall boss Dean Smith today said he was at a loss as to how we didnt beat Gillingham yesterday, speaking to the Official Site Smith also admitted that the performances at home havent been at the standard he expects.

Smith said ‘I’m at a loss to explain how we have not won this game,’ he said. ‘We were a lot more like ourselves, especially in the second half when we played with a bit of zip and vigor and created numerous chances which, unfortunately, we couldn’t take’

‘We know that our results at home are not as good as they should be. We’ve played some good stuff and our performance levels have been high, but we’ve not scored enough’

Our passing play has fizzled out to a slow, crab style approach rather than the entertaining quick tippy tappy football we were used to at the start of the season.

For the second year running Smith’s side have lost their motivation and fitness towards the back end of the season…with League 1 alot less tougher next season, 2014/15 season will be a make or break year for Smith and co.
