Walsall boss Dean Smith today said Grimes is one of the best finishers he has seen and tried to sign him two years ago whilst the striker was at Rochdale.
Speaking to Express and Star, Smith said “He`s a lad that I tried to sign a couple of years ago,” admitted Smith. “He has fantastic technical ability and is one of the best finishers that I have see ‘
“We`ve done our homework on him, as we always do, and I`ve received some glowing reports.
“He will complement the way we play and hopefully this move will re-ignite him so that he can reach the levels that I know he is capable of.
“He`s had a good grounding in the game and I am delighted to be able to bring him here.”
Grimes is in line to make his Saddlers debut tomorrow at Leamington Spa (kick off 3pm)
