The managerial merry go round

Jeff Bonser has admitted he hopes to have a man in place sooner rather than later. I fact it is quite possible tha manager maybe named this week. Interviews have already taken place and more were happening this weekend. So Lets look at some of the names in the frame.

Chris NicholKnows the club knows the lower leagues would be a fans choice. Was close to getting the job before KB, But couldn’t agree terms. I can’t understand why he would get it now if Jeff wouldn’t give it him before.

‘Sir Ray Graydon’ Again a fans choice but going back doesn’t always work. Excellent coach although didn’t do it for Bristol Rovers.

Colin Lee Much to everyones suprise has shown interest. A man who could very well do the job. Managed Torquay at this level proven track record Knows the club, would stand up to Bonser. However some fans didn’t like his style of play. I can’t see JB be brave enough to swallow his pride and make this appointment if we could a ford it anyway.

Paul Hart Did well developing the younger players at Forest before it went Pete Tong, Failed afterwards would be a better choice than some.

Keith Curle Bookies favorite !!! Knows the division but hasn’t pulled up any trees so it has the right price but would have to convince me he was the right man.

David Kelly, Richard Okelly, Craig Shakespear, Kevin Summerfield, Ricky Sbraigia All ex players doing well, some unproven overs too expensive Bonser will more than likely come up with proven and cheap option.

High profile names such as David Platt, Denis Wise Although they would maintain the clubs media profile we have just been biten by such an appointment.

Ian Holloway Linked last time around, was thought to be lined up for Leicester, but now seems unlikely. Stated on Sky last night he would manage at league two level if the oppourtunity came around, would be an excellent appointment but the cost maybe too high.

As you can see the list could go on and on, but we will have to see what the future holds. Whilst the fact Bonser has said it might be an unpopular appointment, I think should not be seen as a clue more as a statement that the appointment will be what the board view as the right man not necessarily a fans choice.

For me I would love to see Ian Holloway at the club, but it will be someone else unfortunatly.
