I know there is a bad economic climate at the moment but Walsall have picked up more than half a million in transfer fees and add on’s this summer.

This time last season Jimmy Muddle had brought in Roberts, Mattis, and Zaaboub seemingly instanteously after the contracts expired at former clubs. Bonser even had the daftness to offer a two contract to reliable sick-note Roberts who surprisingly didn’t figure in two thirds of the season because of injury.

Poor Chris Hutchings it won’t be surprising if the former Wigan gaffer decides to leave before a ball is kicked against Brighton – sorry Jimmy Muddle – no pun intended.
