In some of the sunday papers the news that Walsall are expecting there players to return to training at the end of the month, just when the successful play off teams finish there season has come under fire.

Most noticable the sunday Mercury accused the club of having a recipe for burning the players out. Despite the fact that the training programe is designed as a maintenance programme to prevent the situation which arose with Ian Roper and Leroy Williams last July. Also the people outside the club don’t seem to understand the issue with fitness which seemed to undermine our performances last year.

It should also be noted that this ‘idea’ isn’t really a Richard Money innervation. This is quite common in europe and is probably come about from his managerial experiences in Sweden.
