Walsall Skipper Praises Fellow Defenders

|

Walsall skipper James Clarke has today paid tribute to his fellow defenders following our fifth clean sheet in ten league games.

Clarke scored the winner on Saturday and says he forgets how young Zak Jules and Dan Scarr are given their impressive performances so far this season.

Speaking to the Official site, Clarke said

“I forget how young they are to be honest,”

“Julesy goes under the radar, I thought he was outstanding against a good winger.”

“Scarrsy’s got some really good attributes, the way he attacks the ball.”

“He gets up so high above everyone but I feel relatively safe with him at centre half.”

“We’re constantly learning and we’re getting clean sheets.”

Since Zak Jules has come into the squad at left back the Saddlers have conceded just one goal in four games and despite being in a side that conceded goals for fun last season Dan Scarr has perhaps been the best defender at the club so far this year.

The Saddlers are hoping to continue their impressive defensive displays as we head to Crawley on Saturday.
