Georges Ba (born January 24, 1979 in Abidjan) is an Ivory Coast born national football striker.

Ba has played for a number of clubs in France and also for Israel’s Maccabi Netanya. He travelled to England in early 2008 for a trial with Leeds United,[1] but was not signed by the club and on March 29, 2008 instead joined another League One side, Gillingham, on a deal set to run until the end of the 2007-08 season.[2][3] He made his Gillingham debut in a 2-1 home win against Luton Town on April 1, but he was released at the end of the season after only four games for the Kent club.

On saturday he looked too similar to Jabo…do we need the same option!!

Anthony Grant (born June 4, 1987) is a professional English football player, who was at Chelsea F.C.

Grant made his debut against Manchester United in May 2005, coming on as a last minute substitute for Joe Cole in Chelsea’s 3-1 win. While little has been seen of the 19 year old defensive midfielder, one challenge during his debut at Old Trafford indicated that his grooming to take over from Claude Makélélé is well on course. Grant, nicknamed ‘The Judge’, will be looking to impress in the reserves to earn a place in the English Champions’ first team during the 2005/06 season, for which he has been allocated the squad number 42.
More recently time spent at Luton and Wycombe on loan. I liked the look of him and his range of passing seemed to fit into our style on saturday.

Chris Palmer (born October 16, 1983 in Derby) is an English professional footballer. He was last playing for Wycombe Wanderers.

Palmer works hard for the team and has great pace. He can also deliver a good ball into the box. His best position is left-wing.

He started off at Derby County, but did not get a chance to impress so he joined Notts County in 2004 where he went out to Hereford United on loan for a month (making 3 appearances). He was given a first team place and took it with both hands making 24 appearances for Notts County and scoring 4 goals.

Palmer signed for Wycombe Wanderers in the summer of 2006. He had a run in the 1st team before he spent some time on the sidelines with a dislocated shoulder. He struggled to hold down his place on his return, and was sent on loan to Darlington in August 2007.

Not sure whilst it is wrong to judge on 45 minutes I wonder if his inclusion would stifle the development of some of our own youngsters, but what he lacks in height (5ft 7i) he makes up in effort.

Marco Reich (born December 30, 1977) is a German footballer currently playing for Kickers Offenbach in the 2nd Bundesliga, the second-highest division in Germany. He is a winger.

He made his professional debut in October 1996 with Kaiserslautern in the Second Bundesliga and subsequently played five seasons for the club, four of them in the Bundesliga after they were promoted there in 1997. He also won the Bundesliga champions title with Kaiserslautern in 1998.

In the summer of 2001, he moved to Köln and spent one season with the club, making 24 Bundesliga appearances without scoring a goal. He then moved to Werder Bremen next summer, subsequently spending one season and a half with the club, but only making 17 Bundesliga appearances with no goals scored before moving to Derby County of then Football League First Division in January 2004. At Derby, he spent a bit more than one season and a half before moving to Crystal Palace in September 2005.

Reich also won one international cap for Germany, playing 78 minutes in their 3-3 draw with Colombia in a friendly match played in Miami, Florida on February 9, 1999.

He has a reputation for starting strongly at clubs, before fading away and falling out of favour, as has been the case with his last three clubs. At Werder Bremen, he was earmarked as the replacement for Oliver Bierhoff in the German national team, before losing his first-team place and moving to Derby County on a free transfer. There, a series of virtuoso performances helped to keep the club in the Championship,and he also gave many autographs to fans. He eventually left the club in much the same way as Werder Bremen, signing for Crystal Palace. Marco then moved to German side Offenbach on 30th January 2007 on a free transfer.

Last saw him against the Saddlers in his Derby days and on TV whilst at Palace and if he can repeat that form he would be a good addition, however didn’t really live up to the billing expect for a 15 minute spell, worth another look.

Cooke was born in Walsall and began his career as a trainee with local team Aston Villa, turning professional in July 2000. He made his first team debut on August 2, 2000, coming on as a second-half substitute for Julian Joachim in Villa’s 2-1 defeat at home to Celta Vigo in the UEFA Intertoto Cup semi-final second-leg.

He moved to Bournemouth on loan in March 2002[1], making his football league debut in Bournemouth’s 5-1 win at home to Northampton Town on March 9, 2002. He returned to Villa before the end of the season.

On January 1, 2003 he finally made his Premier League debut for Aston Villa, coming as a late substitute for Ulises De la Cruz in Villa’s 2-0 home win over Bolton Wanderers. He made two further appearances that season for Aston Villa, as a late substitute for Dion Dublin in the 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester United in March and as a second-half substitute for Stefan Moore in the 3-1 defeat away to Leeds United on the final day of the season.

He rejoined Bournemouth again on loan in January 2004 and signed on loan for Wycombe Wanderers in December of the same year[2]. Cooke’s Aston Villa career came to an end when he was released at the end of the 2004/05 season.

Following spells at Bournemouth and Torquay he has spent the last year with Halesowen. He didn’t show too much on saturday. However as a local lad who many saddlers thought might join us before he went to Bournemouth, might just be worth a punt. My thinking is that we have to allow for him been out of the pro game for a year, he is young and desperate to make the grade, he will work hard and have the determination to do it. In terms of potential, a number of clubs have seen potential in Stephen but he hasn’t delivered but it is there. Thirdly after a year at Halesowen he will be cheap, worth a six month 12 month contract in my opinion.

So perhaps Wednesday might see some new signings if they impress.
