We Are The Masters Of Our Own Downfall – Keates

|

Walsall boss Dean Keates has said his players have been working hard this week to rectify the silly mistakes they have been making recently.

Keates believes that sides aren’t carving the defence open and that we are the masters of our downfall.

Speaking to Express And Star Keates said

“The disappointing thing for us is that we aren’t coming up against teams who are carving us open,”

“At the moment, the only thing we are consistent at is being masters of our own downfall.”

“That is what we are working on. That is what is being addressed this week”

The Saddlers have won just three games in the last nineteen and Keates feels that the next few weeks could look completely different should the side be able to keep mistakes down to a minimum.

“And it can look a lot rosier over the next week. We need a performance and a result against Blackpool.”

“Then we have our game in hand against Wimbledon on Tuesday.”

“After that the table could look a lot differen. But that can work both sides – we are not kidding ourselves.”

“We are well aware of the situation we are in. But we have got 16 games left and they are massive games.”

Im sure many reading this will say it’s about time we stopped talking the talk and start walking the walk…The mistakes being made are the same mistakes we have been doing all season and I’m unsure whether this group of players can go a full ninety minutes without making a mistake.

Heres hoping we can snatch a few wins and draws – we need a minimum of twenty points from the last sixteen games.

Buckle up, this is going down to the wire.
