Saddlers boss Jon Whitney has been speaking with the
Walsall FC official siteabout the importance of consistency in the build up to the final part of the season.

‘This is the business end of the season now and it’s really great that we are playing for something.

‘Each game we play we believe we can win, but we only do that if it’s not just words and we actually go onto the pitch with some energy.’

The Saddlers will be meeting an AFC Wimbledon side who they faced for the very first time back on the opening day of the season. On that day, Walsall ran out comfortable 3-1 winners but Whitney recognises that travelling to the Cherry Red Records stadium will be a completely different proposition.

‘We’ve got to match them – we’ve got to expect a bit of a chaotic battle and a scrap.

‘We can fight and scrap with the best of them but we can also play aswell so we’ve got some really good ingredients moving forward.’

Can Walsall follow up Saturday’s impressive victory with 3 points against AFC Wimbledon?
