Dobson And Ferrier Dont Travel To Poland As Saddlers Face Odra Opole

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke has given an update on the future of George Dobson and Morgan Ferrier as he reveals neither player has travelled with the squad to Poland.

The Saddlers face second division side Odra Opole today in a behind closed doors friendly as Clarke continues to assess the squad ahead of the new season. The game with Odra Opole will kick off at 10:30am (GMT) and updates will be available on the clubs social media accounts.

The Saddlers twenty-two man squad is as follows

Saddlers’ 22-man Poland squad: Liam Roberts, Cameron Norman, Cameron Pring, James Clarke, Dan Scarr, Stuart Sinclair, Liam Kinsella, Josh Gordon, Elijah Adebayo, Jack Rose, Kory Roberts, Mat Sadler, Danny Guthrie, James Hardy, Jack Kiersey, Mitch Candlin, Alfie Bates, Callum Cockerill-Mollett, Tom Leak, Shay Facey, Wes McDonald, Trialist (Rory Holden we believe)

Clarke has said that whilst the Dobson and Ferrier situation could change that will depend on the players and their agents but will re assess the situation when the squad returns to England later this week.

Clarke told the Express And Star

“They’ve both shown a desire they would like to move on and that’s where we stand – but things can obviously change quickly in football and we’ll review it when we get back and see where we’re at.”

“They’ve been working hard with the youth team this week.”

“I haven’t had a problem with the boys’ attitude, they haven’t given me an ounce of problem.”

“Morgan is very, very lively – he just needs a slap a few times, but that’s Morgan Ferrier for you – and Dobbo is a model pro, so there are no problems there”

“But we want players that want to play for Walsall – they might have changed their opinion when I get back and will be keen to be part of this group.”
