Boston United Half term report.

Headlines have been all about the wrong things for Boston fans this season. The court case for ex chairman and current manager put the club under the spot light again. The fact that manager Steve Evans continues at the club means the wounds are open for opposition fans to poke at. Also the fact that many football fans feel that there league status was unfairly brought and a great deal of sympathy goes to the teams which were cheated due to Boston`s foul play means there is a lack of good will towards the Pilgrims. Other headlines have been generated by the clash between club and council about a move of ground.

So what about on the pitch, well from what us Saddlers fans have seen they are a danger to air traffic and win the direct play award. They are strong and physical and with Drew Broughton upfront you can understand there style of play. I will not knock a team playing to it`s strengths but I for one wouldn`t want to watch it game after game. Recent results have moved them four points clear of relegation but it is a battle I can see going to the wire. Although there cause will be helped if they can avoid the injuries which have effected them in the first half of the season.

The signings they made pre season were not of the class of Noel Whelan and Julian Joachim but should have been good enough to put more space between them and relegation. As for the rest of the season I am not sure, should be good enough to stay in the league but off pitch goings on could unsettle the boat so a season of struggle. Many would like to see the back of manager Steve Evans but can they afford to let him go.
