Is the tide of support about to turn?

Things are tense at Walsall currently, where things are quiet, and the fans are not.

Departures of players and staff, with messages that put the club in a bad light being shared, along with the missing meeting minutes means tension is growing.

In a poll on the Vital Twitter feed, fans voiced just where the frustration is lying.

The board need to communicate

One thing that Leigh Pomlett has had in his favour is the fact that since taking over from Jeff Bonser the communication from the club is better.

However at the moment, it is very quiet, and the fans patience is wearing extremely thin.

In the poll, which can be seen below, 55% of fans voted in favour of supporting Matt Taylor, but not the board, and 25% had given up on both.

This figure is a clear message to the board, that they need to support the manager, as he is the one keeping the fans slightly happy.

Attendance about to drop?

Attendances, both home and away, have remained at a fairly consistent level this season, despite not having a great deal to shout about.

However, with the fact Walsall have not been able to win back to back games, and the match day experience virtually non-existent, the supporters have had enough.

This is also shown online, where the general mood is that after years of decline, is it actually worth still going to watch the team play?

The average home attendance this season has been 4,678, which considering the quality of football, Covid, and other issues, is actually very good.

But with little to play for this season, it is highly likely this will drop, and that would simply add to the list of issues the club faces.

Great read the fans need to stay away
That’s the only way to change the way this club is run by hitting the board in the pocket
