Walsall were dealt a huge blow this afternoon as Kory Roberts was stretchered off during our 3-0 pre-season defeat to Stoke City.

Roberts went down just after seventy minutes and it took ten minutes before he was stretchered off and needing oxygen.

Joe Edwards came onto the pitch to aid Kory Roberts and offer support as well as the medical staff.

The Saddlers lost 3-0 following goals from Bojan, Afellay and Crouch but its the injury to Kory which is more at the forefront of all Saddlers fans with Walsall needing defensive reinforcements before his injury.

Now with three weeks until the season the Saddlers only have Jon Guthrie in the centre of defence…worrying times. Former Wrexham Defender Olly Marx is currently on trial with the Saddlers but right now we need experience and quality. The rush is on to bolster this squad.

Everyone at Vital Walsall sends our best wishes to Kory and wish him a speedy recovery.
