Walsall are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Erhun Oztumer in the three nil victory over Doncaster Rovers at the weekend at the Keepmoat Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Oztumer was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Striking twice in a four minute period, the playmaker gave Walsall a 2-0 lead, which would later be extended by Kieron Morris. Known for his stunning strikes, Oztumer kept things simple this time around, taking the ball round the goalkeeper and converting from close range on both occasions in the success at Doncaster.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Oztumer for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.
