We are desperately clutching at straws with this but here are a few reasons to be optimistic in what has been a depressing season to date
RETURN OF MANNY
Manny Monthe returns to the side tomorrow evening after seven games out. His commanding presence at the back has been missed for the past seven games, hopefully the return of Manny will see us stop conceding silly goals from set pieces (we hope)
CAPTAIN KINSELLA
The removal of the captains armband from Joss Labadie has been a positive step following his under par performances lately. Kinsella gives 110% every week and is the perfect captain to steer us away from the drop zone.
MATT TAYLOR CHANGE OF FORMATION
Whilst reverting to 3-5-2 didn’t go to plan on Saturday it’s refreshing to see Matty Taylor changing his formation. Hopefully with 90 minutes under their belts with 3-5-2 we will see it again tomorrow with a bit more understanding.
SCUNTHORPE
They are currently by far the worst side in the country. Their last home win came way back in October – they’ve won just two games at home all season, losing eleven out of seventeen.
WE DONT DO TOO BADLY AT SCUNTHORPE
Our record at Scunthorpe is not bad at all. Since 2005 we have lost just twice. Our last defeat came in 2008 – we have won our last two games at Scunthorpe 2-0.
Yep we know they’re not the most motivating reasons to be cheerful but at this moment we will try and take any positives!
