Walsall Boss Insists We Are Not A Defensive Side

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke has stated that his side are not a defensive side despite not scoring for four and a half hours.

The Saddlers have enjoyed a lot of possession during those three games but have just failed to make their chances count with poor decision making in the final third however Clarke is confident that Lavery, Adebayo and Gordon will start to reap the benefits of their hard work.

We have not hit the back of the net in a league game since James Hardy scored an eighty-six minute equaliser against Forest Green on 10th August – however Clarke is confident things will change sooner rather than later.

Speaking to Express and Star – Clarke said

“It is frustrating because we are not a defensive team – we have dominated most of the possession and had opportunities in the final third”

“We asked questions, we asked questions with our movement, but we just aren’t finishing it off and that is what is costing us.”

The Saddlers will be hoping to end that goal scoring drought when we face Grimsby Town at the Banks’s Stadium this weekend.
