Walsall FC Finds Itself In A Sad Situation

|

Walsall caretaker boss Martin O’Connor has today said the players have not been good enough for weeks and that relegation has been coming for weeks.

O’Connor says he’s not sure who the blame lies with but that Walsall FC find themselves in a sad situation.

Todays 1-0 defeat to Wycombe all but relegated the Saddlers to League 2 for the first time in twelve years.

Speaking to Express And Star O’Connor said

“But I think this has been coming for weeks and weeks and weeks now. We have not been good enough in games – whoever you blame. We have just not been good enough.”

“For me, it’s sad that this is the situation Walsall Football Club finds itself in.”

“And I’ve said to the boys they have to be proud to wear any shirt, wherever they go next season they are going to have to put in bigger performances and better performances than they have over the past two, three, four months.”

For four years the hierarchy at the club have made the wrong decisions and we are finally reaping what we sow.

To the players, we have contributed towards your wages for you to represent this town and our club, you have also failed.

We will come back but that does not give those that have made these decisions an easy ride – they have failed in their roles – each and everyone of them.

We’re all going on a League 2 tour
