Walsall Interested In Nottingham Forest International Attacker?

|

Reputable Twitter journalist Alan Nixon has said we are interested in signing Nottingham Forest attacker Jamie Ward.

Ward who can play as a winger or a forward has spent the early part of this season on loan with Charlton.

Ward who was born in Birmingham has scored ninety-eight career goals including four for Northern Ireland.

He started his career at Aston Villa before moving onto Chesterfield, Sheffield United, Derby County and most recently Nottingham Forest he has accumulated over £1m in transfer fees during his career and is out of contract this summer.

It was at Derby County where Ward made his name scoring twenty nine goals in one hundred and twenty nine appearances for the Rams, however his move to Forest has been less successful with him adopting a role on the wing scoring just three times in fifty-seven appearances.

Ward started last season by scoring the winner against Doncaster in the EFL Cup, before joining Nigel Clough’s Burton on loan. He scored four goals for The Brewers before returning to The City Ground in January 2017 to help Forest secure Championship safety.

He scored one goal in nine appearances for the Addicks in League 1 this season.
