Walsall Sack Manager Dean Keates

|

Walsall have tonight sacked manager Dean Keates following our 3-1 home defeat to Oxford United.

Our twelfth defeat in sixteen games sees the Saddlers still rooted inside the relegation zone with just five games remaining.

The official statement read

“Walsall Football Club have tonight parted company with Manager Dean Keates with immediate effect.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to Dean for all his hard work and dedication during his time with the Saddlers and wish him well for the future.”

Keates leaves the job after just over a year in charge. Winning just eighteen games of his sixty games in charge.

We would like to thank Deano for his contributions as a player however his time as a manager was very poor and we needed to do this to give us a chance of survival. However with just five games remaining it does seem a little too late.
